"As a starting point we matched the terracotta carpet to the nearest Dulux colour and began to develop our palette. With the idea of a contrasting scheme in mind, we selected rich colours from the Colour Palette.

To work within Disability Discrimination Act guidelines the staircase and balustrade could not be the same as the broad wall area so we chose a muted blue to keep the style and sophistication of the colour scheme. Putting colour in the correct place is as important as selecting the actual colours."
