Dulux Trade Launches 2010 High Gloss and 2010 Undercoat

Dulux Trade is delighted to announce the launch of its very first Trade trim paint range that is both solvent-based and fully compliant with VOC 2010 legislation, which prescribes strict limits for the amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that can be contained in decorative paints, stains and varnishes. Dulux Trade 2010 High Gloss and 2010 Undercoat enable appliers and specifiers alike to ensure they are in line with the legislation by becoming accustomed to VOC 2010 compliant products and reducing their impact on the environment well ahead of time.

Professional appliers and specifiers need to sit up and take note now, because as of January 1st 2010, the production of non-compliant products will be banned altogether, and a year later, the sale of non-compliant products will be forbidden as well. As a result, traditional solvent-based products, such as interior and exterior trim paints - which tend to lie significantly above 2010 VOC limits - will need to be either re-formulated, or will no longer be available.

Market leader Dulux Trade has pre-empted these changes, producing solvent-based products which already meet the strict criteria of the legislation. This in turn is providing appliers and specifiers with the head start they need to familiarise themselves with compliant products and build their trust in them, so that when 2010 comes, they will not experience further change.

A significant number of our customers highly value the unique performance and quality results of our current solvent-based High Gloss and Undercoat and would rather not have to change over to water-based trim formulations. With this in mind, our research team has worked extremely hard to create a solvent-based trim system that fully complies with VOC 2010 legislation, retaining all the application and performance characteristics our customers have come to expect from Dulux Trade.

We've tested, re-tested and tested again to make absolutely sure these products perform. Extensive research in our own labs has been backed by real-life use by contractors and decorators. In fact, when used together 2010 High Gloss and 2010 Undercoat even outperform our standard High Gloss and Undercoat in terms of flow, gloss level and gloss retention - and all that with 18% less VOCs!

Dulux Trade 2010 High Gloss and 2010 Undercoat are currently available in white, with the full range of colours expected to be on the market during March 2009.
