The playground at St. Mary’s Primary School in Bracknell has had a major overhaul using a range of Cuprinol Trade products to ensure an attractive and durable finish.
Over 200 children between the ages of 5 and 11 attend the school and use the outside play area all year round, so a range of high performing products were required to protect an array of timber structures from weathering and wear and tear.
Cuprinol Ultra Tough Decking Stain in Hampshire Oak was applied to a large wooden stage area in the playground. The water repellent finish is tough and durable and will prevent the stage from splitting or cracking. As an added safety measure, Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking Treatment was then applied, which provides a non-abrasive anti-slip finish. For ease of use the product goes on white but dries clear, ensuring an even coverage was achieved.
Cuprinol Trade Landscape Shades, in a colourful Dartmoor Green, was ideal for the balustrading and vertical posts that frame the stage area. A highly flexible, high opacity satin finish for exterior wood, Cuprinol Trade Landscape Shades provides long lasting protection of up to eight years, making it ideal for those wishing to extend maintenance cycles.
The picnic benches in the playground were protected with Cuprinol Trade 5 Year Quick Drying Woodstain, in Rich Mahogany. Cuprinol Trade 5 Year Quick Drying Woodstain is a medium build, water-based semi-transparent satin finish that is touch dry in just one hour. It offers up to five years protection for exterior wood constantly exposed to the elements.
“The work that’s been done to the playground at St. Mary’s is fantastic,” said Miss Harbut, head teacher at St. Mary’s Primary School. “Not only does it look really good but all the exterior woodwork has had the proper protection and treatment, so hopefully it will stay this way for a lot longer.”
Cuprinol Trade provides a complete range of landscaping products for all requirements. The correct treatment of exterior wood is recommended to ensure that timber features retain attractive looks for longer.
