Glidden is Decent choice

ICI Paints is working closely with Enterprise plc and Jewson to provide Hull City Council tenants with brand new kitchens in a choice of co-ordinated colour schemes.

Glidden, from ICI Paints, has been specified along with kitchen units as part of a sole supplier agreement between Jewson and main contractor Enterprise plc. As a main stockist for Glidden, the Hull Sutton Fields branch of Jewson will hold stock for Enterprise, ready for call off when required.

Enterprise is installing 600 kitchens as part of Hull City Council's Decent Homes programme, and Glidden proved the most cost effective option for the associated re-decoration. Glidden Anti-Mould Vinyl Matt and Acrylic Wood Primer Undercoat and High Gloss were specified, to achieve a good quality finish that is resistant to condensation and mould.

ICI Paints was also able to assist with tenant liaison by providing Enterprise with bespoke boards displaying a choice of six colours, expertly selected to co-ordinate well with the different ranges of kitchen units. This collaborative approach ensured that tenants were given a real say in the final design of their kitchen, but in a way that was manageable.

The contract to refurbish kitchens in 600 council homes in Hull is part of Hull City Council's programme of works to bring all 29,400 council homes in Hull up to the Decent Homes standard by 2010. Glidden is the ideal partner on jobs where cost is a serious consideration.
