Diamond Matt and Diamond Eggshell from Dulux Trade have been used to striking effect in the stunning Alexander House Hotel and its exciting new Utopia Spa in East Grinstead. It was vital that only products of Dulux Trade’s pedigree were used for the project at the 17th Century mansion, rated as a top 200 UK 4 Red Star hotel and once home to the poet Shelley.
From the 10,000 Diamond Matt colours available, contractors D&A Starbuck applied a variety of tasteful shades throughout the hotel and health club. In total 12 colours were used: Dark Stone, Pale Walnut, York White, Edwardian Yellow, Crimson, Flint, Quartz Grey, Silverdale, Red Ochre, Blue Verditer, Regency Grey and White. Several of these were taken from Dulux Trade’s Heritage colour range, a selection of period derived shades formulated in modern finishes.
As well as an unrivalled colour range, Dulux Trade Diamond Matt utilises Dulux Trade’s unique Diamond Technology. It is formulated to give exceptional durability, making Diamond Matt 10x tougher than even vinyl silk finishes. Diamond Matt is a washable matt paint and a wall coated with Diamond Matt can be repeatedly cleaned. It even contains built-in resistance to common stains, allowing them to be wiped clean because they don’t soak into the paint film. This means surfaces can be cleaned rather than redecorated, extending maintenance cycles and delivering significant cost savings.
Dulux Trade products were applied throughout the hotel and spa complex. In addition to Diamond Matt, two other Dulux Trade products were used during the extensive project. Dulux Trade Diamond Eggshell applied here in Gardenia, also benefits from Diamond Technology and has a mid sheen finish.
Dulux Trade Sterishield Diamond Matt, was applied in the kitchen and laundry room in Magnolia. Sterishield contains an in-film bactericide which inhibits bacteria and actually increases its activity against bacteria when washed and scrubbed. It is specifically designed to promote a more hygienic environment in potentially sensitive areas such as these. |
